Tech giant Martech has agreed to buy into 6,400 UK homes, including 5,500 homes in London, for £7.8m.
Martech chief executive Tom Wirfel said: “Martech is pleased to be joining forces with H&S technical services to strengthen its portfolio of solutions to provide the UK with the best and most cost-effective residential data and telecommunication solutions.”
Martech’s acquisition of the H&s data centres, which currently employ more than 2,000 people, was announced earlier this month.
The firm said it would use the Hargreaves Lansdown facilities to support the IT and communications operations of the UK Government.
Martech said it planned to use the new data centres to support other Hargrove Lansdown data centres in the UK.
H&S, the UK’s largest telecommunications company, will also be joining the acquisition, with a joint venture to be launched later this year.
Shares in Hargritts, which includes Martech, rose 1.8 per cent on the day.
